Venue
The convention will be held at the University of Lugano,
Switzerland, in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino and near the
border with Italy. This conference venue is ideally situated in
the city center and is less than a ten-minute walk from Lake Lugano.
Visitors are attracted to Lugano and its surrounding areas thanks
to the beauty of the sub-alpine landscape, the lake and its shores.
The University of Lugano, established in 1996, is part of the Swiss
university system, along with nine other cantonal universities and
two federal polytechnic schools. The University of Lugano has two
campuses, one in Lugano, for the Faculties of Economics and Communication
Sciences, and the other in Mendrisio, home to the Academy of Architecture,
15 kilometers south of Lugano. The Faculty of Communication Sciences
offers specializations in mass communication and new media, corporate
and institutional communication, communication technology, and communication
in education and training.
In view of its geographical, political and cultural position, the
university wants to act as a bridge between cultural areas in the
north and the south of Europe. It aims to contribute to an ongoing
dialogue and exchange between diverse disciplinary and cultural
traditions.
