The Association for Business
Communication (ABC)
The Association for Business Communication (ABC) is
an international organization committed to fostering excellence
in business communication scholarship, research, education, and
practice. It has been operating for more than sixty years and publishes
two refereed journals, the Journal of Business Communication
and the Business Communication Quarterly. Currently the
ABC is organized into five regions in the United States and four
international regions: Canada, Europe, Asia/Pacific Rim, and Caribbean/Central/South
America. Regions hold individual conferences in the spring and combine
in the fall for a large ABC Annual Convention in the U.S. Sixty-seven
ABC Annual Conventions have been held to date. More information
on ABC is available at www.businesscommunication.org.
At the request of the European members, ABC Europe
was established in November 1996 as a new region, with the regional
president (Vice President Europe) elected through a vote of European
members. ABC Europe has attracted much interest and the number of
European members in ABC continues to grow. For information on the
ABC, ABC Europe, and membership, contact ABC Vice President Europe,
Gina Poncini, at gina.poncini@lu.unisi.ch.
